THE GREATEST OPINE

A surprising conclusion

As America prepares to observe the 62nd anniversary of the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, I invite you to read The Weekly Opine’s single greatest column.

Published on November 21, 2019, “Where Time Stands Still” is a substantial piece of art and science that combine as provocateur. Measured and timeless, “Where Time Stands Still” rises to the top as the greatest of eight years’ worth of opines.

The piece begins with memories from November 22, 1963, at the moment when, as a 1st-grader that day, I learned JFK had been shot. It concludes with observations and experiences from a 2019 bucket-list journey to Dealey Plaza in Dallas (as well as visiting other historic sites related to JFK’s assassination).

The informative, penetrating documentary “JFK: The Smoking Gun” provided invaluable context as I researched and wrote “Where Time Stands Still.” The documentary’s fact-based, scientific analysis by ballistics and forensics experts, coupled with eyewitness interviews, leave no doubt what transpired at Dealey Plaza 62 years ago, later covered up by the incompetent Warren Commission.

Like many of you, there have been numerous significant, memorable events in my lifetime. None rises above the assassination of JFK. And we now have clarity about what happened that day in Dallas.

Without further ado, click the link below to read “Where Time Stands Still.”
