A bit more than shuffling

If the feet of military who participated in Trump’s ballyhooed $45 million parade were singing, you’d say they were off key. What the military’s feet did was more than shuffling but not exactly gallant marching. Trump’s parade was a sham. The military appeared largely uninterested in being used by a con man who chickened out of serving in his country’s armed forces. Collectively, the military defied their commander in chief’s expectation to be entertained. Instead of grand marching, many in the military casually sauntered, like vacationers hoping to avoid tourist traps.

In the 50 states more than 5 million humans enthusiastically gave the finger to Trump and his MAGA fascism. It was the opposite of what transpired Saturday in Washington, D.C. Out yonder in the states enough energy was released so that, if he could, Elon Musk would bottle the energy to propel SpaceX to Mars.

Before continuing can we agree Trump owes Jeb Bush an apology? During the 2016 Republican primary Trump frequently called the not-34x felon, never accused of rape Bush “low energy Jeb.” If Bush is low energy, then Saturday’s sparsely attended parade was dead on arrival. (Is it true organizers lured some attendees with offers of cryptocurrency? Seems plausible considering Coinbase was a parade sponsor.)

Trump watched in humiliation as some of the military’s out-of-step stroll was in stark contrast to what Nazi Germany’s sinister, goose-stepping Schutzstaffel, a.k.a. SS, delivered for Hitler. Kim Jong Un’s troops, always stepping with mistake-free precision, must be itchin’ for a fight with us after seeing the uninspired effort by America’s finest. Trump’s pal Putin may still be doubled over laughing at Trump’s lackluster parade.

As it happened, America’s military completely disrespected Trump, many members not even turning their heads left, as is customary, when passing the viewing stand where Trump was seated. Some of the marching was less precise than a junior high band walking in a homecoming parade. Apparently, the military delivered a silent protest against the most despicable person the United States has ever produced. Thus, Trump’s fantasy of military discipline and obedience gave way to overwhelming disinterest on all fronts. The parade was a complete failure, as is Trump’s idiotic policy turning the military loose to manhandle American citizens in L.A.

Not a feast for the eyes

Part-time First Lady Melania, an unsympathetic character if there ever was one, looked like she wished Trump was off somewhere with Stormy Daniels rather than sitting beside her. Defense Secretary DUI hire Pete Hegseth’s facial expression was that of someone offered club soda, after arriving five minutes past last call. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, eyes closed at times during the parade, may have been praying that dimwit Kristi Noem and border czar henchman Tom Homan don’t come to the realization Rubio is the son of Cuban immigrants and send him to El Salvador.

Trump, showing low-to-no energy, appeared to doze off several times. Whatever was said about Joe Biden’s mental acuity, double it to describe the deranged, unstable Trump who is a pathological liar, 34x felon and adjudicated rapist. Trump is easily the dumbest, least-curious-to-learn president in this nation’s 249 years of existence.

Saturday’s parade was small, estimates ranging from 10,000 to 20,000. Attendees complained about not having enough security checkpoints resulting in long lines stretching for blocks. Paltry concession offerings made the event feel not special. And there were no large speakers set up away from the dignitary viewing stand making it impossible for people not near the reviewing platform to hear what was being said. (What was audible was tanks squeaking as they rolled by.)

Trump’s music acts were… well, I delivered better music acts as executive producer for McDonald’s Live, a summer concert series in 2007 (McD’s acts included Ne-yo, One Republic and Keri Hilson). The music at Trump’s parade contributed to the event being a snoozefest.

What fools believe

Sadly, but not unexpected considering probably 50% of the media is terrified of Trump, WGN-TV Chicago knelt meekly at the MAGA alter. Friday night, a WGN news anchor stated there would be “dozens” of anti-Trump protests across the country. An accurate description would have said “thousands,” considering more than 2,100 protests were about to take place on Saturday. But hey, don’t want to offend MAGA.

Following up Saturday night, after the sparsely attended debacle in D.C., WGN’s news anchor proclaimed Trump’s sad sack parade was “massive.” It was reminiscent of Trump toady Sean Spicer lying about Trump’s first inauguration, claiming it had the largest inauguration attendance in history. Like Spicer, WGN apparently thinks its viewers are clueless.

Trump parade sponsors are probably smiling, though. Palantir, UFC, Coinbase and Oracle, no matter how much they paid in sponsorship fees, will surely be handsomely rewarded via the corrupt grift machine that is Trump 2.0.

Still, it was a humiliating day for Trump. Even a fool can see Trump’s marriage is fake. Even a fool can see “No Kings” protests squashed Trump’s tiny parade. Even a fool can see Trump is surrounded by a cabinet full of sick-minded, dangerous hoodlums. NBC News polling shows Republicans who are “thrilled” with Trump has dropped from 32% in April to 25% in June. MAGAs who are “thrilled” fell from 46% to 37%. Fools are waking up!

His plan to ride the wave from a triumphant military parade in tatters, Trump slinked in and quickly out of the G-7 meeting this week in Canada. He remains the wart among the free world’s leaders. A wart the American people, including some of those foolish enough to vote for Trump, can no longer tolerate.

The operation to remove the wart happens in 2026 with a vote against MAGA fascism.
