Make Americans Die Again

Alongside prolific, pathological lying, the signature aspect of Trump’s first administration was overseeing the preventable deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans. From the moment in January 2020 when the first coronavirus case was announced in the U.S., Trump’s stunning incompetence made America the biggest loser, with more Americans contracting and dying from COVID-19 than any nation on the planet.

Who can forget Trump boasting that 15 covid cases would soon become zero? (There were around 200 cases when the typically uninformed Trump claimed there were 15.) How about when Trump said drinking bleach would cure covid? Or that shining laser lights into infected lungs would weed out the disease? (The forgettable Dr. Deborah Birx sat silently as Trump foisted these deadly “cures” on the public.)

According to Worldometers data, 111 million Americans have contracted the coronavirus (that’s 1 out of 3 Americans for those keeping track). And 1.2 million Americans have died from covid.

Trump 2.0 continues the death march

Even now, more than 300 Americans die each week from covid as the Trump administration’s koo koo crazy conspiracist, Health and Human Services Director Robert F. Kennedy Jr., interferes with development and distribution of life-saving vaccines.

Possibly due to his brain being scrambled from his heroin addict days, RFK Jr.’s unserious approach has led to measles spreading unlike any measles outbreak we’ve seen in years. Several children have died as measles cases spread from the Southwest to the East Coast to the Midwest.

When asked recently about vaccinating his own children, RFK Jr. said, “I don’t think people should be taking medical advice from me.” Let that sink in. The Trump cabinet member responsible for overseeing America’s health agencies doesn’t understand the public, including our local doctors, looks for advice and directives from the man overseeing the Centers for Disease Control.

Without HHS, CDC and National Institute of Health recommendations, based on factual scientific research, the plethora of online and social media medical quacks would run unopposed as they push invalidated remedies on a (mostly MAGAs) susceptible public.

It’s anyone’s guess how many Americans will die needlessly due to unqualified RFK Jr.’s incompetence and carelessness.

Killing field

Among the cruel measures Trump and his suddenly out-of-favor piggy bank Elon Musk thrust on us, defunding USAID and taking away Medicaid and SNAP benefits have been exceptionally harmful and deadly. According to analysis by Boston University Associate Professor of Global Health Brooke Nichols, 300,000 deaths are attributable to cuts at USAID implemented by the Trump-Musk deadly duo.

Health experts project the number of deaths caused by Trump-Musk will grow significantly in the coming months. Meanwhile, an estimated $98 million in food aid sits rotting in African warehouses. While people are dying in Africa due to his policies, Trump dilly dallies, focused on silliness like a gift airplane from Qatar, weekend golf outings and tricking MAGA stooges into investing in Trump-branded cryptocurrency.

(Given Trump’s boast he would end the war in Ukraine on Day One of his presidency, you could argue TACO is indirectly responsible for deaths in Ukraine, beginning January 20 until the war ends.)

Now, Musk slinks back to Texas as an absolute failure overseeing DOGE. Reporting says DOGE cut $160 billion, but cost citizens $135 billion. That’s net savings of $25 billion, not in the same zip code as the $2 trillion Musk bragged would be saved when appointed head of DOGE. (Former DOGE co-lead Vivek Ramaswamy may be the smartest guy in the room, having jumped ship before DOGE began earnestly wreaking havoc on American citizens.)

By his own yardstick, Musk and DOGE failed miserably. They’ve made the government less efficient, with cumbersome processes that interfere with federal agencies’ ability to operate smoothly. Oh, and numerous, costly lawsuits pile up against the Trump administration.

Elon Musk joins Trump’s legacy as a racist, cold-blooded killer. The world’s richest man, evidently high on a cocktail of drugs, is killing the world’s most vulnerable people, including an estimated 200,000 children so far. Fifty-five thousand adults have succumbed to AIDS because of DOGE. It is not a stretch to include Trump and Musk among world history’s most notorious killers.

The Trump administration and its DOGE agency are wantonly wrecking our government while destroying the lives of thousands of loyal, competent workers. An outgrowth will continue to be the wholly unnecessary, preventable deaths suffered by thousands of people caught in the path of Trump-Musk greed and evil.

When history books record the Trump era, his legacy will begin and end with the many civilians who died because of government ineptitude and savagery. Indeed, it is possible the number of Americans killed by willful neglect during two Trump administrations will surpass American military losses in three pivotal wars. The combined number of Americans killed in the Civil War, World War I, and World War II totaled 1.14 million, a number within reach of Trump’s madness.

In coordination with barbaric people like Elon Musk, fake Christian Mike Johnson, and feckless GOP senators who voted to confirm RFK Jr., Trump has turned the Republican Party into a legion of death.
